About the Library: The Sualkuchi Budram Madhab Satradhikar College Library was started in the year 1963. It was initially housed in a single room of the College. When the volume of the books started increasing, the Library was shifted to an independent building. Late Harbilash Baishya was the first Librarian of this Library. The Present Library is located centrally within the College Campus. It was conventionally accessible by the user community.
The library is using Library automation software SOUL 2.0 version developed by INFLIBNET Centre. The Intranet OPAC is available in the library. The library started using Barcode Software from the year 2014.
The Sualkuchi Budram Madhab Satradhikar College Library also has a digital library that can be accessed at http://www.sbmscollege.org/library/index.htm. The Digital Library is equiped with social network like Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus, Blog, Email Alert and SMS alert.

H. S. Students: 1 Book Each for 15 Days
T. D. C. Students: 2 Books Each for 15 Days
Faculty Members: 15 Books for 30 Days
Library Rules:
General Rules:
(i) Silence should be observed strictly in the Library.
(ii) All the student shall sign in the gate register at the entrance of the Library.
(iii) Personal books, files will be allowed inside the Library. The student are requested to take care of their belongings.
(iv) Before entering into the Library, student should switch off their cell phones.
Rules Related to Issue of Books:
(i) All the students can collect their Library books against the Borrowing Tickets issued to them by the Librarian.
(ii) Borrowing Tickets are not transferable.
(iii) Students are responsible for all books borrowed against their Tickets.
(iv) Books will be issued to the students on loan for a period of 15 days.
(v) Reference books and Journals will not be issued, but are available for study within the Library.
(vi) Tearing of sheets from books and newspapers is strictly prohibited and is punishable.
(vii) Users must satisfy themselves whatever the books are in good condition, before they leave the counter. If any damage is noticed, the same must be immediately intimated. Otherwise they will be held responsible for any damage.
Rules Related to Fines:
(i) A sum of Rs. 1 per day shall be charged for books not returned within the time specified.
(ii) Loss of Borrowing Tickets and books should be reported to Librarian immediately.
(iii) Duplicate tickets will be issued on payment of Rs. 20 per tickets.
(iv) Final year student should return all the books and surrender Library Borrowing Tickets on completion of the course and obtain the Library Clearance Certificate.

Reference Books= 10,088 Nos.
Magazines: Gariyoshi, Prantic, Frontline, Dayafter.
News Paper: Assam Tribune (2 Nos.), Asomiya Pratidin (2 Nos.), Niyomiya Barta (1 Nos.), Khabor (1 Nos.), Dainik Asom (1 Nos.) and The Times of India (1 Nos.).
